A conversation between myself, Simone Niquille and Shannon Mattern, and chaired by Nora O MurchĂș, for transmediale 2021.

Listen to the conversation here.

"What happens when individuals and groups consciously reject the smart in smart technology? How might actions that resist productivity, misuse the data collected, and refuse seamlessness, create a deeper understanding of the often less-visible forms of labour and organisational management? In this discussion, Niquille, Yuile, and Mattern explore the approach and theorisation of smartness in relation to failure, misuse, stupidity, privilege, and self-care. How are collective understandings of smartness changing? How can these be represented? And what emergent forms of agency can reside in these knowledge spaces?"
